Yoga In Schools

Alexandra has been teaching Yoga in numerous schools within the Bay of Plenty for the past year, being a mother, she knows the importance of movement for children and young people and sees the benefit within the children after each session.

Students get time to slow down, recharge and connect in a safe environment. The evidence of yoga practice among children indicates improved benefits in concentration, stress alleviation, self-awareness, consciousness, self-regulation, behavioural and emotional maturity, and self-confidence in everyday life.

Yoga is also known to improve memory function and its direct impact can be seen in the student's performance.

As well as teaching students in schools Alexandra has been teaching the teachers, this is a real passion for Alexandra as the teachers in our community constantly hold space for others and its fantastic to give them some time to slow down and look after their physical and mental wellbeing.

Alexandra has planned retreat days for some teachers in The Bay of Plenty with nourishing food, restorative Yoga and intentional Pranayama for calming their nervous systems.
